CAST Schools Executive Director Jennifer Maestas and Senior Partnership Director Heriberto “Eddie” Rodriguez recently represented CAST Schools as part of the San Antonio delegation attending the North Capital Forum, hosted by the U.S.-Mexico Foundation.

The forum brought together leaders from Mexico, the United States, and Canada for conversations about trade, investment, talent, technology, and the future of North America’s economic relationships. For CAST Schools, the gathering offered an opportunity to bring an education perspective into conversations about how regions like San Antonio prepare young people for a changing economy.

“Many of the business and policy leaders I heard from are increasingly thinking about North America as an integrated economic region,” Maestas shared. “In San Antonio, we sit in a region with the potential to play an increasingly important role in how North America grows, produces, innovates, and develops talent.”

Maestas and Rodriguez joined the delegation through greater:SATX. The experience also included a small dinner and conversation with Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs and other leaders focused on the future of the U.S.-Mexico relationship.
